Shenzhen Bay Laboratory (SZBL) is a key strategic deployment for Guangdong Province and Shenzhen to build leading international and domestic science and technology innovation centers in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. SZBL is located in Guangming Science City with a planned total building area of 400,000㎡.

The Institute of Molecular Physiology focuses on the molecular basis of both molecular biology and physiological processes.
Molecular biology is the science that studies the nature of living things around the central laws of biology, and it also generates technologies that can be widely applied to the life sciences. Molecular biology, which emerged in the 1950s, and gene engineering technology in the 1970s have advanced biomedical research and applications. For example, research on basic molecular biology activities such as gene replication, repair, expression regulation, and their regulatory mechanisms in important biological processes such as development, aging, and disease occurrence, as well as the study and application of molecular biology technologies such as molecular evolution, gene editing, new molecular marker detection, and gene therapy.
Physiology has been the foundation of modern medicine since the 16th century when Harvey studied the circulatory system. The Institute of Molecular Physiology uses the concepts and techniques generated by molecular biology to drive physiological research, while the questions raised by physiological research stimulate the generation and application of techniques in molecular biology. Examples include the research on the molecular mechanisms and regulation of important physiological processes such as sleep, metabolism, immunity, perception, and respiration, as well as the relationship of these processes to disease.

This program conflicts with the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation International Exchange (Introduction) Program and cannot be enjoyed in conjunction with the subsidy from the local government while in the station.
6. After leaving the station, postdoctoral researchers who stay in Shenzhen can apply for the Shenzhen Postdoctoral Out-of-Station Staying (Coming) to Shenzhen Research Fund, with a subsidy of CNY 300,000 (CNY 100,000 per year for 3 years).
7. Assistance will be provided to eligible postdoctoral researchers to apply for other types of projects (based on the latest policy documents).
