Postdoctoral Scholar Position in Phase-Change Heat Transfer (Multiple Hire Recruitment)

Position description

The Water and Energy Technology Laboratory is looking for a qualified postdoctoral researcher that is self-motivated, creative and enthusiastic to work on thermal desalination and phase change heat transfer. The duties of the postdoc will include i) studying heat and mass transport in thermal desalination processes; ii) writing papers describing the results of the evaluations and investigations, and iii) assisting with the oversight of graduate and undergraduate assistants working on these projects. This may be a multiple hire recruitment.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications

Applicants will have a PhD degree in mechanical or related field. Applicants must have background in fluid mechanics and thermal science. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.

Additional qualifications

Preference will be given to those applicants with strong backgrounds in phase- change heat transfer, and experimental heat transfer.

Preferred qualifications

Highly self-motivated individuals who have demonstrated the ability to conduct independent scientific research successfully are desirable.
