丹麦奥尔胡斯大学2022年招聘博士后职位(食品科学)

Aarhus University, Department of Food Science, offers 2 positions at the post doctoral level within the area of cultured meat, starting 1 October 2022.

Area of work

Cultured meat is a future way to produce the same nutrients as traditional meat, with reduced impact on the environment. For cultured meat to enter the market, an affordable product of good taste is a prerequisite for success. To address this challenge Department of Food Science has a portfolio of new research projects with two open post-doc positions. This is part of a larger investment in cellular food at Aarhus University, which is lead from our group at Department of Food Science.

Postdoc 1 on nutrients and growth factors for culturing muscle cells: This project focuses on making animal derived side streams bioavailable as nutrients for muscle cells and combining these with relevant growth factors to support growth and differentiation of functional muscle fibres. Nutrients are obtained by enzymatic or chemical degradation as well as fractionation. This position will likely offer a 3-month stay in another international lab.

Postdoc 2 on muscle cell platform for testing culturing media: This project focuses on establishing a screening platform with primary cells, establishing cell assays suitable for screening purposes of proliferating and differentiating cells. Screening assays will involve real time PCR, metabolic or cellular markers using Cytation 5.

The positions are part of the same project and will be collaborating.

Qualifications

•A PhD degree in a relevant area e.g. food science, molecular biology, molecular medicine or similar

•Documented experience in cell culturing, cell/molecular biology techniques, food science, meat science

The applicant is requested to specify which of the 2 positions is applied for.

Shortlisting is used. This means that after the deadline for applications – and with the assistance from the assessment committee chairman, and the appointment committee if necessary, – the head of department selects the candidates to be evaluated. All applicants will be notified whether or not their applications have been sent to an expert assessment committee for evaluation. The selected applicants will be informed about the composition of the committee, and each applicant is given the opportunity to comment on the part of the assessment that concerns him/her self. Once the recruitment process is completed a final letter of rejection is sent to the deselected applicants, including the main considerations emphasized during the selection process.
