美国洛斯阿拉莫斯国家实验室2020年招聘博士后研究员(神经形态计算)

What You Will Do

Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is seeking an outstanding postdoctoral researcher to work both independently and in a team environment on numerous aspects of neuromorphic computing and the implementation of spiking neural algorithms. A primary goal is to identify and develop neural mechanisms to use within a general computational framework. Additionally, we are interested in implementing both machine learning and standard computational algorithms on neuromorphic integrated circuits and simulation environments to benefit both LANL's scientific and national-security missions.

The successful candidate will be expected to conduct research to identify areas of promise and to develop methodologies for exploiting neuromorphic computing technologies and spiking algorithms, develop theoretical and computational tools for neuromorphic computers, and communicate research results through reports, presentations, and peer-reviewed publications.

LANL has a history of ground-breaking achievements in neuromorphic computing. You will have the opportunity to work with internationally recognized experts in the field.

What You Need

Minimum Job Requirements:

Substantial research experience in one or more of the fields of neural computing and computational neuroscience.

Demonstrated research ability, as evidenced by publications, reports, presentations, awards, etc.

Excellent communication skills, as evidenced by publications and a cogent cover letter

Evidence of strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment

Desired Skills:

Programming experience with Java, C++, Python, MATLAB, or Julia and demonstrated software engineering skills

Experience with Brian 2, Nengo, N2S3, BrainScaleS 2, or similar simulation environments and/or neuromorphic hardware such as SpiNNaker, Intel Loihi, IBM TrueNorth

Experience in scientific computing and numerical methods, and graphical modeling

Experience with Verilog or VHDL

Education: PhD within the past five years or soon to be completed in Computer Science, Computational Neuroscience, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited college or university.

Notes to Applicants:

To apply, please use the “apply now” button below. Please include a curriculum vitæ with a publication list—preferably with citation counts—and a detailed cover letter (guideline: 1–2 pages) that describes your research interests and qualifications and addresses how your qualifications meet the job requirements. You should provide the names of three people who can serve as references for your abilities.

The position has a flexible starting date.

Strong candidates may be eligible for a Laboratory fellowship. See https: // www. lanl.gov/careers/career-options/postdoctoral-research/postdoc- program/postdoc-appointment-types.php for details.

For further questions, please contact A. Sornborger at sornborg@lanl.gov

Salary - Competitive salaries are based on the date the PhD degree requirements were completed or the degree was awarded. On the anniversary of these dates, salaries are automatically adjusted to the next higher level, e.g., PhD + 0: $74,000; PhD + 1: $75,900, etc. For more information see our Postdoc Salary Guidelines, https:// int.lanl.gov/employees/postdoc- program/becoming-postdoc/appointments/salary-guidelines.shtml

Additional Details:

Position does not require a security clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to drug testing and other pre-employment background checks.

New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.

Candidates may be considered for a Director's Postdoc Fellowship and outstanding candidates may be considered for the prestigious Richard P. Feynman, Darleane Christian Hoffman, J. Robert Oppenheimer, or Frederick Reines Distinguished Postdoc Fellowships.

For more information about the Postdoc Program, go to https: // www. lanl.gov/careers/career-options/postdoctoral-research/index.php .
